Eight early voting sites open across League City on Monday, Oct. 19, giving residents 12 days to cast ballots before the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election.

Hours shift during the early voting window, according to the Galveston County election notice signed by County Judge Mark Henry:

  • Oct. 19–23: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 24: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 25: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Oct. 26–30: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The city's official election notice lists these early voting sites:

  • League City Civic Center, 400 W. Walker St.
  • Hometown Heroes Park, 1001 E. League City Pkwy.
  • The Crossings, 255 Egret Bay Blvd.
  • League City Annex, 174 Calder Rd. (Community Room)
  • Public Works Operation Center, 1701 W. League City Pkwy.
  • Education Support Center (CCISD), 2425 E. Main St.
  • Magnolia Creek Clubhouse, 4751 W. League City Pkwy.
  • Bay Colony West HOA, 6621 Calder Rd., Dickinson

The Galveston County notice lists only four of these eight as early voting sites. Voters should confirm their location at galvestonvotes.org before heading out.

Galveston County uses vote centers. That means registered voters can use any polling location in the county, not just one assigned to their precinct.

The same eight locations serve as Election Day polling places, according to the League City election order. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Nov. 3.

What's on the ballot

Six League City races and one proposition. Mayoral candidates are Nick Long and Tom Crews. Position 1 has three candidates: Gordon Bethel, Dinah Carpenter and Dina DuBose Driskill. Position 2 pits Tommy Cones against Gregory Van Etten. Three candidates seek the Position 3 unexpired term: Robert Bruce, Julius Segelquist and Seth Rowlands. Position 6 features Sean Doyle and Lisa Welty. Position 7 is Sean Saunders against Teresa Potter.

Proposition A is a nonbinding advisory question on whether the League City Police Department should continue using Flock automated license plate reader cameras at fixed public roadway locations. The City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday, Aug. 11 to place the measure on the ballot. The council retains final authority over the camera program regardless of the vote's outcome.

If any race requires a runoff, it is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12.
