League City voters can cast ballots at seven locations across the city on Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Galveston County Elections published the official Election Day site list for the November general election. Because the county uses vote centers, registered voters may go to any location on the list, not just the one in their precinct. Any site works.

The seven League City sites and addresses are:

  • League City Civic Center, 400 W. Walker St.
  • The Crossings, 255 N. Egret Bay Blvd.
  • League City Annex, 174 Calder Dr.
  • Hometown Heroes Park, 1011 E. League City Pkwy.
  • Magnolia Creek, 4751 W. League City Pkwy.
  • Public Works Operation Center, 1701 W. League City Pkwy.
  • Education Support Center, 2425 E. Main St.

All seven sites are open to any Galveston County voter. League City residents who live in the Harris County portion of the city should check harrisvotes.com for their polling places, according to the city's official election notice.

What's on the ballot

Voters will choose a mayor and city council members for Positions 1, 2, 6 and 7, each for four-year terms. Position 3 is also on the ballot for an unexpired term ending in November 2028.

The ballot also includes Proposition A, a nonbinding advisory question on whether the League City Police Department should continue using automated license plate reader cameras at fixed locations on public roadways. City Council placed the measure on the ballot on Aug. 11 in what KGTX 7 reported was a 6-1 vote.

"This is, I think, a perfect issue to take to the voters … In a time where everything is hyperpartisan, this is really a nonpartisan issue," Mayor Nick Long said at that Aug. 11 meeting, according to KGTX 7.

Because the referendum is advisory, the result will not legally require City Council to keep or remove the cameras.
