Helen Hall Library switched to a new weekday schedule on Monday, Nov. 2, opening and closing one hour earlier than before on Monday through Thursday.

Under the new hours, the library is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, according to a City of League City announcement. The city said the library now opens one hour earlier and closes one hour earlier on those days. Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours are unchanged. The city said the change is meant "to better serve the community."

Here is the full weekly schedule:

  • Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m.

The shift gives morning visitors an extra hour on weekdays but trims an hour from the evening. Residents who relied on the library past 8 p.m. on weeknights will need to adjust.

The city's library hours page also lists the 2026 holiday closure schedule. The next scheduled closing is Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11. After that, the library will close early at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25, and remain closed Thursday through Thursday, Nov. 26 to Nov. 29, for Thanksgiving.

Upcoming library closures

  • Wednesday, Nov. 11 closed for Veterans Day
  • Wednesday, Nov. 25 early close at 2 p.m.
  • Thursday to Thursday, Nov. 26 to Nov. 29 closed for Thanksgiving
  • Thursday to Thursday, Dec. 24 to Dec. 27 closed for Christmas
  • Thursday, Dec. 31 early close at 6 p.m.
