The League City City Council meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, for its first regular session since members adopted a $333 million budget and cut the property tax rate on Sept. 8.
The meeting takes place at the Council Chambers, 200 W. Walker St. Residents can attend in person or watch live on the city's Facebook page. The city's meeting notice says recordings also replay daily on Channel 16 at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. The agenda is now available on the city's Legistar meeting portal.
At the Sept. 8 session, council members set the Fiscal Year 2027 tax rate at $0.356505 per $100 of assessed value. That is roughly seven-tenths of a cent lower than the prior year. The city called it the 12th consecutive annual property tax decrease. A homeowner with a $300,000 property, after the standard 20% homestead exemption, pays $856 under the new rate, down from $1,433 in 2015, the city said.
Residents who want to speak must sign up on a sheet outside the chambers before the meeting begins. Speakers state their first and last name and home address.
