League City police officers and firefighters will fan out across registered neighborhoods on Tuesday, Oct. 6, for National Night Out.

The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. It is part of a nationwide initiative that promotes police-community partnerships as a crime-prevention tool, according to the city's program page.

The League City Police Department (LCPD) said it will attempt to visit every registered location, though attendance cannot be guaranteed because of staffing and active call volume. The League City Volunteer Fire Department, a volunteer organization, also plans visits but cannot guarantee attendance.

Neighborhood registration closed Sept. 25. Events are organized by homeowners associations, Neighborhood Watch groups or property management companies, with one event allowed per neighborhood. Residents can check the city's NNO newsflash for updates.

Residents with questions can contact LCPD at (281) 332-2566 or the League City Fire Department at (281) 554-1465.
