League City Parks and Recreation published its Winter Program Guide on Thursday, Oct. 15, opening registration for programs in pickleball, fencing, tennis and martial arts.
The guide covers classes, programs and events for all ages, the city said in a newsflash. Residents can download the full guide from the city's website to browse the complete winter schedule.
Registration is open now.
The winter lineup builds on a growing roster of recreation options from the department. As we reported Oct. 2, the department launched a weekly adaptive pickleball program at the League City Community Center, 400 S. Kansas Ave. Drop-in sessions run every Tuesday from 4 to 4:45 p.m. and cost $1 for League City residents or $2.50 for non-residents. No experience is required.
The pickleball offerings align with a reinvestment plan Parks & Cultural Services Director Chien Wei presented to City Council in July. Wei's proposal for Walter Hall Park included pickleball courts and practice areas among proposed amenities, according to council records cited in our earlier coverage.
The department's website also lists a new Senior Program Guide covering activities at Hometown Heroes Park and the Helen Hall Library. The Play League City phone app offers program information and updates as well.
Meanwhile, the FM 270 Boat Ramp closed Oct. 12 for a renovation project expected to last until summer 2027.
Online registration is available through the city's WebTrac portal. The Parks and Recreation office is at Hometown Heroes Park, 1001 E. League City Pkwy. Residents can call 281-554-1180 for details.
