Three people face felony charges and combined bonds of $970,000 after a child exploitation tip led to a major drug and firearms seizure at a League City home.

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office said investigators searched a residence in the 2000 block of Island Manor Lane on Thursday, Oct. 1, as first reported by KGTX 7. The operation involved the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and FBI agents from the bureau's Texas City office.

The probe started in July after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) forwarded a cyber tip to Detective Arturo Espinosa of the Galveston County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit. Espinosa is assigned to the ICAC Task Force.

Investigators first executed a search warrant targeting electronic devices. After that initial search, the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force was notified, and investigators obtained a second warrant for narcotics, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities said they seized 76,543 grams of THC liquid, 84.3 ounces of THC concentrate, 22.5 grams of Quaaludes, 16 pounds of marijuana and 238 THC pens. They also recovered four handguns, one shotgun and 10 rifles.

Sebastian Xavier Ruiz, 22, faces the most serious charges: possession of child pornography involving fewer than 10 visual depictions, delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 of more than 400 grams, possession of marijuana between 5 and 50 pounds, and possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 between 4 and 400 grams. His bond was set at $410,000.

Eric Anthony Zavala, 32, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 of more than 400 grams, possession of marijuana between 5 and 50 pounds, and possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 between 4 and 400 grams. His bond: $330,000.

Kelly Ann Zavala, 49, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 of more than 400 grams and possession of marijuana between 5 and 50 pounds. Her bond: $230,000.

All charges are allegations. The defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

As of Friday, Oct. 2, all three remained in the Galveston County Jail, according to the Galveston Daily News. Ruiz and Eric Zavala had not yet appeared before a magistrate. Kelly Zavala had received her bond.

The sheriff's office described the outcome as coordinated work between child-exploitation and organized-crime investigators, Click2Houston reported. Forensic analysis of the seized electronic devices is ongoing, and additional charges could follow.

The sheriff's office credited the Pearland, La Porte, Dickinson and League City police departments, the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division in Texas City, the FBI's Texas City office and Homeland Security Investigations in Galveston with assisting in the operation.
