A nonprofit that delivers birthday kits to League City elementary students and partners with the League City Police Department is turning its Webster resale shop into a holiday marketplace this fall.
Bay Area Service League announced Wednesday, July 29, that its "Jingle with the Elves: A Holiday Extravaganza" fundraiser will take place Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 100 E. NASA Parkway, Suite 80, in Webster. Tickets cost $15 and include a 30-percent-off coupon for one item.
Ticket sales open Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. at the shop.
Purchases must be made in person.
The event transforms the league's resale shop into a holiday market stocked with Waterford crystal, Brighton and Lenox pieces, Fitz & Floyd items, Mariana jewelry, wreaths, trees, garland, centerpieces, holiday clothing, shoes, and purses. League members prepare the inventory by hand, according to the announcement authored by Lisa Holbrook.
Local ties
Bay Area Service League is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) with roughly 210 members. The organization logged 33,226 volunteer hours between June 2025 and May 2026, a contribution valued at about $1.2 million based on the Independent Sector's hourly rate.
Several of its programs touch League City directly. The Caring Kits program, which provides clothing and hygiene supplies to domestic and sexual assault victims, partners with the League City Police Department. Its teen auxiliary, Bay Area Service Teens, delivered 280 birthday-party kits to at-risk students at League City Elementary and McWhirter Elementary in Clear Creek ISD during the 2025–2026 school year.
The teen auxiliary counts about 125 high school students who volunteer alongside the adult membership.
How to get involved
The resale shop is open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations of clothing, accessories, home goods, and furniture are tax-deductible. The shop can be reached at 281-554-2594.
Revenue from the resale shop funds the league's philanthropic programs, which also include Ready for School clothing drives, Snack Attack Packs for food-insecure students, and Operation Cinderella prom support for economically disadvantaged high school seniors.
