League City resident Amber Carlson shut down her Bayside Bazaar night market in Seabrook on Sunday, July 26, but the plant swaps, themed swaps, and Singo bingo that made the event popular aren't going away. They're coming to League City.
Carlson, who organizes both the Bayside Bazaar and the Sunset Bazaar, told KGTX 7 News at the final event that she plans to fold those activities into an additional market day at the Sunset Bazaar, held at Walding Station, 100 Perkins Ave.
"I'm actually excited because I live in League City," Carlson said at the July 26 event. "I love our League City community. It's a great spot, but the population density isn't where we need it to be, so we are excited to move it to Sunset."
The Bayside Bazaar operated for more than two years as a monthly night market at the Landolt Pavilion in Clear Lake Park, 5001 E. NASA Pkwy., Seabrook. It ran on the fourth Saturday of each month from 4 to 8 p.m. The final event drew about 40 vendors, food trucks, a plant swap, and a Mad Hatter-themed teacup swap.
Carlson said the Seabrook venue's 35,000-square-foot pavilion offered shade, fans, a large courtyard, green space, a smokehouse, and spacious restrooms. But the surrounding population density wasn't large enough to sustain the market at the level organizers needed.
The timeline for adding the new market day to the Sunset Bazaar has not been finalized. Carlson said it could begin later in 2026 or sometime in 2027.
The Sunset Bazaar already draws more than 60 vendors on the second Saturday of each month, 4 to 8 p.m., at Walding Station. Admission and parking are free.
