Clear Falls takes the field at home Thursday, Sept. 10, looking to avoid an 0-3 start when the Knights host Fort Bend Elkins at Challenger Columbia Stadium.

The Week 3 non-district matchup is the Knights' last tune-up before district play opens. Clear Falls enters winless after a 49-3 loss to Pearland in Week 1 and a 42-31 defeat at Humble Kingwood on Sept. 3.

The Knights need a win.

The Kingwood game showed more offensive production, with Clear Falls putting up 31 points after managing just three against Pearland. But Kingwood quarterback Landon Hinson set a school record against the Knights' defense with six touchdown passes on 18-of-23 passing for 338 yards, according to Sports Illustrated's Texas high school football coverage.

Fort Bend Elkins brings a 1-1 record to League City from Missouri City. The Knights from Elkins opened with a 38-35 double-overtime loss to Katy Mayde Creek despite running back Tyson Craft rushing for more than 200 yards and four touchdowns, ABC 13 reported. Elkins rebounded in Week 2 with a 37-13 win over Pearland Dawson, according to Dallas Morning News scores.

Craft poses the biggest challenge for the Clear Falls defense Thursday. His 200-yard, four-touchdown rushing performance against Mayde Creek in Week 1 established him as one of the Houston area's most productive backs through two weeks.

Clear Falls' roster features quarterback Reid Jeffrey, running back Braydin Fennelly and wide receivers Chace Rieman and Graysonn Snead. Whether the Knights can match their Week 2 scoring output while limiting big plays on defense will determine if they open district play with a win on their record.

Kickoff time at Challenger Columbia Stadium has not been confirmed. Thursday's game is the final non-district contest for Clear Falls before league play begins.
