Four people face organized criminal activity charges after Friendswood police tracked a white sedan to League City and recovered stolen lawn equipment inside.
The Friendswood Police Department said it received a call around 8:32 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, reporting that three men had taken equipment from a lawn crew's trailer in the 2100 block of North Mission Circle in Friendswood and fled in a white sedan, KGTX 7 News reported.
Officers used what the department described as investigative tools to identify the vehicle and determine it was heading toward League City on FM 518. About 17 minutes after the initial call, officers stopped the sedan at FM 518 and Bay Area Boulevard.
Inside the vehicle, police said they found two weed trimmers and an edger matching the description of the stolen equipment. Officers also recovered additional equipment that police said they believe was stolen from other victims. Investigators are working with nearby law enforcement agencies to identify those owners.
All four occupants were arrested.
The Galveston County District Attorney's Office accepted charges of engaging in organized criminal activity against Aerius Banks-Behn, Makayla Wilburn, Deondre Keller and Dyki Keller. Bond was set at $40,000 each.
No spokesperson was named in the department's account of the arrest. Whether League City police assisted with the traffic stop has not been confirmed.
