Four juveniles face felony criminal mischief charges after riding e-bikes across Magnolia Creek Golf Club and causing more than $5,000 in damage, the League City Police Department announced July 28. All four were released to their parents.

LCPD officers responded to the 27-hole course at 1501 W. Bay Area Blvd on Thursday, July 16, after staff discovered significant damage from the previous evening. The department said individuals had ridden e-bikes on the property without permission the night of Wednesday, July 15, damaging portions of the course.

The investigation stretched nearly two weeks. Citizen-provided video evidence helped detectives identify the four juveniles responsible, according to the department's press release. LCPD filed criminal charges, and officers took all four into custody on July 28.

The department did not release the juveniles' names, consistent with standard practice for minors in Texas.

Under Texas Penal Code Section 28.03, criminal mischief causing damage between $2,500 and $30,000 is classified as a state jail felony, punishable by 180 days to two years in a state jail facility for adults. Juvenile cases are handled through a separate system, and LCPD did not disclose whether the cases would be referred to the Galveston County Juvenile Probation Department or another entity.

The department thanked residents who shared video and helped identify the suspects. LCPD noted in its release that riding e-bikes, motorcycles, or other vehicles on private property without permission can result in criminal charges including trespassing and criminal mischief if damage occurs.

Magnolia Creek Golf Club, a 27-hole course operated by Invited Clubs, did not issue a public statement about the incident.
