Pizza King at 103 Davis Rd., Ste. F, is approaching its 20th anniversary in October.

Owner Dodi Vasquez, who started at the shop as a teenage summer employee, now runs two locations and has plans for more. He told Community Impact he wants each of his four children to eventually own a Pizza King.

"I have four kids, and I would love for each one to have their own shop," Vasquez said. "I think if I were to expand, I have two more shops in me and that might be enough."

The pizzeria has been serving League City since 2006, according to a Facebook post from the business. A New York native originally bought an existing pizza shop and rebranded it as Pizza King. Vasquez grew up working there before taking over as owner.

Vasquez opened a second location at 800 Bradford Ave. in Kemah on Sept. 16, 2025, near the Kemah Boardwalk, according to a Community Impact report from December 2025.

After taking over, Vasquez used social media to build the brand. He said he promotes Pizza King online and posts food reviews for other small businesses, which he credits with drawing new customers.

The current best-seller is the "Hey Honey," a double pepperoni pizza with hot honey drizzle, according to Community Impact. The shop also offers specialty pies, slices in multiple sizes, garlic knots, wings and salads.

Vasquez said he wants Pizza King to be known for the best pizza in this part of Texas within a decade.

The League City location is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
