League City is looking for a contractor to keep its fire trucks and ambulances running, and vendors have until Monday, August 24, to submit proposals.
The city published Request for Proposal #26-045 on Thursday, July 23, covering preventive maintenance and repairs for the fire department's apparatus fleet. Sealed proposals are due by 11 a.m. on August 24 at City Hall, according to the city's purchasing portal. Late submissions will not be opened.
The public bid opening takes place immediately after the deadline at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, 400 West Walker St. Proposal contents will remain confidential until City Council awards a contract.
The RFP does not list an estimated contract value or name the previous contractor.

The League City Fire Department operates six stations with roughly 150 personnel across three divisions: Fire, EMS, and the Fire Marshal's Office, according to the department's website.
City Council unanimously voted on Tuesday, June 23, to increase the fire department's operating budget by $169,000 as part of a broader $3.8 million amendment to the FY2025-26 budget, which now totals $529 million, according to Community Impact reporting.
Council members are also in the middle of reviewing the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget. The first public workshop took place Monday, July 27, at the Civic Center, with additional sessions scheduled for Tuesday, August 11, and Tuesday, August 25.
