Dickinson brings the hottest offense in District 18-6A to Challenger Columbia Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 29, when the unbeaten Gators (5-0 in district) face a Clear Falls team trying to stop a two-game slide.

Kickoff is 6:30 p.m., according to The Daily News' Week 10 preview.

The Gators (5-3 overall) have won five straight district games. Their latest was a 49-28 dismantling of previously unbeaten Deer Park on Oct. 23 at Sam Vitanza Stadium, as The Daily News reported. Senior quarterback Lorenzo Aguirre went 23-for-33 for 313 yards and accounted for four touchdowns. Running back Cedric Brown returned the opening kickoff 87 yards for a score 15 seconds into the game and finished with three touchdowns and 108 yards on 14 carries. Wide receiver Ja'Marion Payne caught 11 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

Dickinson out-gained Deer Park 495-340 in total yards.

"We just kept answering the bell," Dickinson head coach John Snelson told The Daily News after the win.

The Deer Park result came one week after Dickinson beat previously undefeated Barbers Hill 55-42, according to MaxPreps. The Gators opened district play with lopsided wins over Clear Lake, Clear Springs (59-7) and Clear Creek (49-6). The Houston Chronicle reported before the Barbers Hill game that Aguirre had thrown for 1,315 yards and 13 touchdowns through six games.

Dickinson started the season 0-3 against Ridge Point, Katy and Atascocita, according to the Chronicle. Snelson has credited that non-district gauntlet with toughening a young roster for league play.

Clear Falls (3-5 overall, 2-3 in district) enters on a two-game skid. The Knights lost to Clear Springs 17-13 on Oct. 16, according to SI score results, and fell to Clear Creek 7-0 on Oct. 24, according to the Houston Chronicle.

The Knights showed they can score earlier in district play, beating Clear Brook 52-21 and Clear Lake 58-21. Clear Falls head coach Zach Head's squad also won a 42-35 homecoming game over Fort Bend Elkins in September at Challenger Columbia Stadium, the same field where Thursday's game will be played. Receiver Chace Rieman caught eight passes for 215 yards in that Elkins win, and quarterback Reid Jeffrey threw for 282 yards, according to The Daily News.

Dickinson has scored at least 49 points in four of its five district wins. The Gators' combination of Aguirre's arm and Brown's speed on returns and rushing plays gives them scoring ability from anywhere on the field.

Thursday's game is part of the regular season's penultimate week in District 18-6A.
