Clear Falls opened its 2026 football season with a 49-3 loss to Pearland on Friday, Aug. 28, at Challenger Columbia Stadium in League City.

The Knights went 7-4 in 2025 and had reached the postseason seven consecutive years heading into this fall, according to a Galveston County Daily News preview. Pearland, which went 11-1 last season, returned seven starters on each side of the ball from a squad that went undefeated in district play, the Houston Chronicle reported.

No individual statistics were available as of Saturday, Aug. 29.

Clear Falls moves into a reshuffled District 18-6A this season alongside Dickinson, Barbers Hill, Deer Park and the other Clear Creek ISD programs. Clear Falls was not the only League City school to stumble in Week 1. Clear Springs fell to Pasadena Dobie 17-15 on the same night, according to the Houston Chronicle's score roundup.

District 18-6A play begins later this fall, with Dickinson among the league's toughest projected matchups.
