Dickinson ISD staff gathered Friday, Aug. 7, for the district's annual Convocation, the all-hands kickoff that signals the new school year is days away for students across the district's 15 campuses.

Students return Thursday, Aug. 13.

Wednesday, Aug. 12, is designated as a Transition Day. Superintendent Rebecca Brown leads the district into the new year after campus and department leaders spent the summer preparing, including a "World Cup of Leadership" planning session in early June.

The district posted a preview video on its official X account Thursday evening, teasing the Convocation with an energetic caption promising the event was "just the beginning" and tagging it with #Convocation2026 and #GatorPride.
