League City residents cast 2,498 in-person ballots at the League City Annex through the first three days of early voting for the Nov. 3 election.
The Annex ranked third among 25 Galveston County polling sites, according to county turnout data posted by Galveston County Elections. Hometown Heroes Park led all locations with 3,008 votes through Wednesday, Oct. 21. The Public Works Operation Center placed second at 2,620.
As we reported Oct. 20, Hometown Heroes Park also topped the county on opening day.
Day-by-day at the Annex, 944 voters showed up Monday, Oct. 19, followed by 843 on Tuesday, Oct. 20, and 711 on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The dip mirrors a countywide pattern: most sites saw their highest single-day totals on opening day.
Across all 25 sites, county data shows 35,644 in-person ballots were cast through three days. Galveston County's opening-day surge drew attention across the Houston area. Fox 26 Houston reported that 13,656 voters showed up at polls countywide on Oct. 19. The 2022 midterm drew 8,604 first-day voters.
Galveston County Clerk Dwight Sullivan called the opening-day figure "a record for a governor election," according to Fox 26.
Political analyst Mark Jones told Fox 26 that early voter numbers would likely dip before picking back up on Oct. 30, the last day of early voting. Fox 26 cautioned that high early turnout does not guarantee a record on Election Day.
Several other sites posted strong three-day totals. First Baptist Friendswood logged 2,423 votes, Nessler Center tallied 2,406, and Dickinson Community Center recorded 2,375. At the lower end, College of the Mainland drew 278 voters through three days.
Early voting runs through Friday, Oct. 30. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
