League City crews finished repaving a stretch of Ohio Avenue between FM 646 and Virginia Avenue, the city's Public Works Department reported in its weekly update Wednesday, Sept. 2.
The asphalt overlay is part of the Streets Department's annual goal of completing 2.5 lane miles of road improvements. The report did not say how many lane miles the Ohio Avenue project covers or how much of the annual target remains.
Separately, wastewater staff cleared clogs from return activated sludge pumps at the Southwest Water Reclamation Facility. The city said collections of flushable wipes, hair and other debris had reduced pump efficiency and raised the risk of equipment damage. Many products labeled "flushable" do not break down easily and can accumulate in pumps and other wastewater equipment, the department said.
