Two men charged with murder in the May 4 fatal shooting of 19-year-old Prince Pratt in Texas City were arrested Aug. 4 in Houston with help from the League City Police Department, the Texas City Police Department announced.
Albert Huddy Hart IV, 19, of La Marque and Christopher Anthony Albert, 31, of Houston were taken into custody around 3 p.m. during simultaneous operations carried out without incident, according to KGTX 7 News.
The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force–Galveston executed the arrests alongside Homeland Security Investigations' Fugitive Investigations and Search Team. The task force partners with local departments across Galveston County to locate and apprehend wanted offenders.
The Texas City Police Department credited the League City Police Department, Galveston Police Department, La Marque Police Department, Galveston County District Attorney's Office and federal partners for assisting in the investigation.
The shooting
Texas City officers responded around 10:54 p.m. May 4 to a reported weapons offense in the 8600 block of Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, about 10 miles from League City. Pratt was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Hart and Albert after a nearly three-month investigation. Both are charged with murder, according to the Galveston County Daily News.
Investigation remains active
The case remains active as of Aug. 6. Texas City police have not disclosed a motive or described the circumstances of the shooting beyond the initial call type.
